How to use Crystal Grids
Put simply, a crystal grid is an arrangement of crystals used with intention to manifest a desired result.
When you set an intention on crystals, they continue to amplify this, and when you grid them it creates an even more powerful energy vortex.
Using crystal grids is exceptionally effective, as your crystals continue to work on your intention at all times and, as such, they should definitely be part of your work with crystals.
Traditionally, crystal grids were used with sacred geometry an ancient science that explores the energy patterns and shapes that exist in nature all around us, as it was believed this increased their power. In some cases, I have found this to be true, while in others, I prefer to follow my own guidance.
You can have crystal grids around your house for protection, love or abundance, or you may set one up before a big interview or date.
There really is no right or wrong with crystal grids, and as you get more confident with using them, you’ll realise there are no limits to how they can be utilised. Use them for just about any dream, goal or intention that you want to manifest to know that you have crystal power right behind you.

Your ten-step beginner’s guide to setting up a crystal grid
1. The most important thing is the intention behind your grid and holding that clear intention as you set it up. So get very clear on what this is – I would suggest you write it down. As long as your intention/s is/are there, the grid will work as it is intended.
2. Choose a centre crystal. It’s a good idea to ensure this is one that resonates with the intention of your grid (i.e. love, abundance, communication) – or you can use a quartz point for directing your intention. This is also known as the anchor stone, as it anchors the intention of your grid.
3. Choose the rest of your crystals based on the purpose and intention of your grid, but also feel free to add any extra crystals that you are drawn to using.
4. You may also want to add quartz points to your grid to activate the flow of energy. Points facing in will bring more of what you intend in, while points facing out will help to release anything in the way or that needs to go.
5. Cleanse your crystals and the space you are going to set up the grid using Palo Santo, sage, incense or energy healing.
6. Place your centre/anchor crystal in the middle of your grid. You can also place the piece of paper you wrote your intention on underneath it.
7. Place the rest of your crystals in your chosen shape or sacred geometric pattern (you can – but don’t have to – purchase special boards or cloths for this) around your central crystal. Keep your intention in mind as you do this and feel as though all the crystals are connecting to create one big energy grid. A simple beginner’s grid would be a circle of crystals placed around your anchor crystal and then possibly an outer circle around that. As you get more confident with gridding, you will be guided by what feels right.
8. If you feel you want to, you can add candles, flower petals, leaves, images, statues or anything else that represents what your grid is all about.
9. Activate your grid. I like to use a quartz point for this. Starting at the centre, touch your point to your anchor crystal, then using the point energetically, draw a line from crystal to crystal to join them all to each other – a bit like connect-the-dots.
10. Leave your grid in place for as long as you want. I usually recommend at least one lunar cycle, but I have grids that remain in place all the time (for things that I want to keep in my life – like abundance or protection).
