Crystals for Calming the Mind

Crystals can offer incredible support for those times when you find yourself trapped in your mind, over-thinking, questioning everything or not able to make sense of the jumble of thoughts in your head.

 

Sodalite

This is one of the first crystals I will always suggest in stressful times of need. Often referred to as the crystal of peace, it helps to calm the mind and is especially useful when you find your thoughts spiralling out of control and you can’t make sense of anything.

One of the best ways to use sodalite is to carry a piece around with you and hold it in moments when you begin to feel anxious. It’s like holding hands with a good friend, and you’ll immediately feel it’s comforting, calming support.

If you know that you are going into a situation or environment that makes you anxious, meditate beforehand holding a piece of sodalite in one hand and focus on your breath as you imagine drawing the calming energies of the crystal in through your hand, up through your arm and into your mind.

Feel as though your mind becomes filled with calming, peaceful vibes. You can then send these vibes down into your heart and through your whole body, until your entire being feels calm, peaceful and relaxed. Imagine yourself surrounded by a bubble of peaceful protection.

 

Fluorite

If you find yourself constantly overthinking every situation or decision, to the point where you end up doing nothing, fluorite is for you.

Often called the genius stone, fluorite is great for organising and structuring your thoughts, thinking more clearly and making decisions, especially when under pressure.

Try combining it with journaling or a brain dump (where you spill all the contents of your mind out on to paper). Hold a piece of fluorite while writing everything down or when looking back over what you have written, and you may just find its energies will help you to see things much more clearly.
